Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police mentioned they were alerted by a resident who discovered a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then found multiple other smeared cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say initial examinations show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they added.

City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for tips.

A senior political figure commented the incident rendered him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
